Corinthia Hotel Lisbon in Portugal has unveiled renovations of its lobby, reception, and bar. The completion is celebrated as part of the 10th anniversary of the reopening of the hotel.
London-based interior designers Goddard Littlefair managed the renovation, which created a high-end, residential aesthetic. The lobby received leather sofas, lounge chairs, cocktail tables, and hand-tufted carpets crafted in Portugal. To add a social vibe, the lounge bar now extends the theme of the lobby’s warm feel. Designers also incorporated subtle Portuguese details and finishes to link the hotel to its city, such as tooled leather panels on the front of the reception desk that echo leather craftsmanship traditions.

The hotel specially commissioned art from three local artists in recognition of the anniversary. Diogo Navarro painted eight large imaginary landscapes of Lisbon in soft tones. Maria Antónia Santos also presents six paintings inspired by nature, and Susana Bravo contributed images of Portuguese lifestyle.
“We purchased the hotel when it was operating as a 4-Star property and showing heavy wear and tear,” explains Alfred Pisani, Corinthia Group chairman. “Consequently, two years following acquisition, the board decided to shut down the hotel and carry out a major investment to reposition the property to a 5-Star level.”
