The 116-room Gran Melia Rome Villa Agrippina is undergoing final touches before its debut in early April. Located in the heart of the Eternal City, the hotel stands serves as a tribute to history, art, and culture. The building sits on the site of what was once the Villa of Agrippina, named in honor of the mother of famous Roman emperor Nero. The archaeological remains unearthed during its construction will be on display throughout the elegant galleries and communal areas of the hotel.
The property also emerges from Orti Domiziani, the city’s first botanical gardens housing a variety of indigenous flowers and ancient orange trees. Meanwhile, each thematic floor acts as an art gallery boasting pieces inspired by well-known works on display in the city’s museums. Guests staying on the all-suite RedLevel will have access to their own lounge. Additional amenities include several restaurants specializing in Italian, Mediterranean, and international cuisine; bars and lounges, including a pool lounge and a roof garden with panoramic views of Rome; and the YHI Wellness area.
