To celebrate the hotel’s 25th anniversary, the Grand Hyatt Denver has announced a $28 million redesign of the hotel’s guestrooms, lobby, meeting rooms, and several hotel amenities. The renovations, designed by klipp Architecture in Denver, are expected to be unveiled in June.
The residential-style guestrooms, furnished in natural materials and modern décor, will have design influences from the local mountains. For instance, carpet patterns mimic local rock strata and headboards will be done in cerused oak, while a dark palette of gold and blue hues is found throughout. Custom indigenous artwork adorns the walls, and leather and amber glass accents complete the look.
The use of regional influences continues in the lobby, which boasts hand-tufted rugs, a wood canopy ceiling, and saddle leather screens. The backdrop will be an onyx feature wall behind reception, made of sculptural root tables. Between stack fireplaces, chevron pattern wood columns and wood beams darken the entrance, while suspended glass pendants highlight the lobby’s espresso brown and soft gray tones.
The meeting facilities include the Grand Hyatt Conference Center, the Mount Sopris meeting facility, and the Pinnacle Club facility. Featuring a curated art collection, the Grand Hyatt Conference Center will have tranquil interior accents along with its multi-functional floor plan. The Mount Sopris facility will include earthy tones and a bold design, while the Pinnacle Club facility will combine modern refinements with views of the Rocky Mountains in its two ballrooms.
