Grand Hyatt DFW has begun a four-month $13 million makeover to its guestrooms, meeting spaces, and dining outlets. Boasting a residential feel, accommodations will employ touches of granite, wood, and leather, accompanied by works from Dallas-based photo artist Richard Bettinger. Green features prevail, including a window shade system that automatically opens upon entrance and closes upon exiting; in-room lighting that is a combination of LEDs and CFLs, which also automatically turn off once the room is unoccupied; and dedicated recycling bins. In addition, guests can access bedside touchscreen panels that control air conditioning, lighting, and window shades.
Meanwhile, meeting spaces will feature a contemporary color scheme, a new 10-person boardroom, and an art gallery feel to pre-function space with floor-to-ceiling art pieces. F&B options are also undergoing upgrades, including a new walk-up counter and 55-inch flat panel TV at Moka and the addition of a small walk-up sushi bar at M Lounge.
