Designed by Wilson Associates and SuperPotato, the 491-key Grand Hyatt Shenzhen has opened its doors in Southern China. Housed in a distinctive 38-story crested building, where the top seven glass-encased floors create an illuminated ‘lantern’ at nightfall, the hotel welcomes guests with the contemporary art-filled Sky Lobby on the 33rd floor. Adjacent to the lobby is the Lounge, Grand Hyatt Shenzhen’s main gathering space. On the floor below, the Show Kitchen offers four distinctive open kitchens’—Asian, Japanese, Western, and seafood—allowing guests to dine among the live culinary action. Other F&B venues include the top-floor Penthouse, outfitted with a living area with a DJ booth, balcony, terrace, and an illuminated bar; European restaurant Belle-Vue, which has 10 tableside cooking stations; China Lodge, comprising 14 private dining suites; the ground floor 1881, a casual restaurant with four private dining rooms; La Terrazza, a trattoria featuring an outdoor terrace and a rustic wood-fired pizza oven; and the patisserie Sugar Box.
Decorated in plush, rich-toned fabric, the spacious guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a spa-style marble bathroom with an oversized rainshower and separate bathtub, automatic curtains, and a self-contained workstation. The hotel also features Grand Club rooms spanning floors 22 to 31, along with the Grand Club Lounge.
Nearly 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space encompasses a pillar-less grand ballroom with a 30-foot-tall ceiling; Salon du Theatre, a ballroom with an open show kitchen; and the split-level Mansion, designed to resemble a stately home. Grand Hyatt Shenzhen also offers a high-tech fitness center and Shui Xiang, a Hyatt Pure Spa anchored by 13 individual spa "houses" circling a central water feature. Each spa suite contains a private lounge area, bathroom, shower room, and therapist’s pantry.
