The 1,800-key Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana-the brand’s first all-inclusive property-is set to make its Caribbean debut January 29th in the Dominican Republic. Design firm 555 International combines rock appeal and contemporary design accented by ornate details in the hotel’s three nightspots and individual Rockstar Suite. Meanwhile, GETTYS focused on the renovation of guestrooms, suites, and public areas.
While the grand lobby welcomes the guests, it also defines the new designs through the use of adventurous color, emphasizing the scale and proportion of the space. The contrast of new furnishings and refined millwork complement the island-inspired palapa roof above. Throughout the common spaces, there is the unexpected use of unique and reflective applied materials to enhance the guest experience, changing from day to night through the use of specialty lighting.
The guestrooms and suites provide a canvas of natural island textures and warm finishes, which the GETTYS team successfully transformed to look and feel uniquely Hard Rock. The infusion of color reinforces the bold geometry of the existing architecture, and the new “tattooed” etched glass panels at the Jacuzzi tub add the edgy rock statement.
The resort’s Rockstar Suite welcomes guests with a luxe baby grand piano and translucent jellyfish tank flanked by two mirrored columns with LED lighting and a wall that pays homage to the rock legends of the past and present. Sleek and contemporary furniture encompass the lounging space with a large custom-designed pool table serving as the focal point of this over-the-top space. Three spacious bedrooms designed with furniture of reflective and shimmery gold and silver material sets the tone for each room’s ultra-chic appeal. For those looking to entertain, the spacious dining room boasts customized upholstered wall panels lined with beveled mirrors, while the expansive outdoor patio features a hot tub, sun trellis, and cozy firepits at each end.
The Hard Rock also puts nightlife front and center. Conceptualized by Francois Frossard and inspired by the sensuality of the Dominican Republic, Oro features a two-story LED wall comprising more than 300 screens and an infinity edge bar. Other amenities include Rock Spa, a restaurant by chef Kerry Simon, and the 48,000-square-foot casino.
