Each year, the editors of Hospitality Design (HD) magazine tap the industry’s rising talent—young enough to be thought visionary, but tested enough to be recognized for their achievements—for their annual Wave of the Future Award.
International, classic, contemporary, this year’s honorees included Jun Aizaki, crème; Andrew Alford, Andrew Alford Design Studio; Warren Foster-Brown, FBEYE International; Jason E. Goldberg, Rowland+Broughton; Gulla Jonsdottir, Dodd Mitchell Design; and Tonny Sadha, Tonny Sadha Interior Design.
Not only are they featured in the September issue of HD, but they also spoke on a panel at this year’s Hospitality Design Boutique Exposition & Conference (HD Boutique), sponsored by Beyer Brown, D’Style, and Williams-Sonoma. There, they touched on their most challenging projects, where they get inspiration, the launch of new brands, and why bathrooms can pack a big punch.
One of the highlights was Alford explaining his company’s name change to Dirty Lines. (Pictured left: Hotel Triton, San Francisco.)
Goldberg gave an informative rundown on what he has found to be his keys to hospitality design. (Pictured left: Aspen Square Hotel.)
Foster-Brown discussed one of his newest projects the InterContinental Singapore (left), and why it is so unique for the area.
And Jonsdottir explained how she goes about creating soulful spaces (and how she sometimes lives at a property to achieve such a goal). (Pictured left: Cabo Azul Resort.)
