The 532-room Hilton Columbus Downtown has opened its doors in Ohio’s state capital. A large lobby atrium showcases skylights to give an indoor-outdoor feel, while a 380,000-pound skybridge with a glass walking surface connects the property and the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Local artwork plays an important role in the design of the $140 million hotel, which features more than 225 original paintings, sculptures, and photographs. Sue Cavanuagh’s “Ori-kume #17” adorns guestroom ceilings, and “Sea and Tidle River” by Alice Schille, located in one of the Deluxe suites, is a reproduction of the original found in the Columbus Museum of Art. An original oil painting, “Landscape” by Rick Akers, welcomes guests as they enter the fourth-floor elevator lobby.

The French-inspired Gallerie Bar & Bistro and 31,000 square feet of meeting space round out the hotel’s offerings.
