The 195-key Hilton The Hague has opened in the Netherlands, featuring the work of local designer Angelika Kok of Barzileye Concept & Design. The atrium, inspired by the city’s geographic and historical roots, captures the essence of the nearby dunes and seaside with a sculpted sand wall that rises nearly 20 feet. Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer’s painting Girl with a Pearl Earring informs the design of the Grand Café Pearl, featuring modern columns and a 17th century lace pattern with complementing chandeliers. The adjacent Bar Lutine, meanwhile, is outfitted with luxurious leather chairs and traditional colors. The hotel also houses 10 meeting rooms, including the Mesdag Ballroom.
