Hilton San Francisco Union Square has started its $51 million transformation, slated for completion in April 2012. In the hotel’s original building, 550 guestrooms will receive a second window to improve views, soundproofing, and new furnishings and soft goods. King rooms will feature glass shower stalls. The 20,000-square-foot Continental Ballroom and 31 of the additional meeting rooms will be expanded and updated with contemporary design features, while clean-lined furniture will adorn public areas. In addition, corridors will feature artistic cityscapes commissioned from local photographers.
