Hilton Worldwide has settled a lawsuit in which Starwood Hotels & Resorts accused its rival of corporate espionage. Specifically, Starwood said that Hilton executives pilfered documents to launch the Denizen Hotels concept and strengthen its other brands. The settlement prohibits Hilton from creating any hotel brand in the lifestyle or boutique category for two years. In addition, the courts will appoint an independent monitor to ensure that Hilton doesn’t take advantage of the alleged stolen documents, according to the Washington Post.
