Hilton Worldwide is adding to its portfolio in southeastern Europe with its first hotel in the country of Montenegro. Franchisee AD UTIP Crna Gora will spend several million dollars to redevelop a historic building in the capital city of Podgorica for the 200-room property, on track to open by the end of 2012. Guests will have access to a spa and wellness center; restaurant, bar, and bistro; and nearly 10,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom and original grand staircase. Hilton Podgorica Montenegro forms part of a wider mixed-use development that will also incorporate a luxury retail center and casino.
