Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Starwood have unveiled programs that cater specifically to Chinese travelers. Hilton Huanying, which takes its name from the Chinese word for “welcome,” will offer three key components. For the arrival experience, guests will meet a front desk team member fluent in Chinese, while in-room amenities include tea kettles, a selection of Chinese tea available upon request, slippers, a dedicated Chinese TV channel, and welcome letter written in Chinese. In addition, the breakfast program incorporates familiar foods such as congee and fried dough fritters, along with chopsticks, Chinese spoons, and soy sauce dish. Thirty hotels are enrolled in the program, which debuts August 16 in San Francisco.
Developed in conjunction with the Chinese executive team, the Starwood Personalized Travel program will operate in 19 hotels in gateway cities such as New York, London, and Tokyo. The experience includes:
- An in-hotel Chinese specialist assisting guests with everything from translation assistance to facilitating transportation
- Comforts of home in guestrooms such as tea kettles, slippers, instant noodles, and toiletries either in-room or available upon request.
- Translated collateral that provides Chinese guests with information on shopping, sightseeing, and hotel amenities and services
- Familiar foods available at restaurants
