Hilton University of Houston, the teaching hotel for the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, has reopened following a $12.5 million renovation-the hotel’s first major makeover since 1975.
Designed by Houston-based Portfolio Associates, the hotel blends international elements and Texas style and hospitality. A dramatic onyx entry wall greets guests upon arrival, and the new lobby provides an intimate gathering space for visitors. The hotel’s 86 guestrooms have been expanded, while bathrooms have been reconfigured. Caramel-toned natural wood, along with orange and vibrant green hues and classic hide accents, reflect the warmth of Houston.
The hotel features two restaurants: Eric’s, a full-service restaurant that offers all-day casual dining, and Barron’s, run entirely by students from the Conrad N. Hilton College. Other amenities include a 24-hour business center and 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
