Holiday Inn has signed a franchise contract with Sands China for a 1,224-room hotel on Cotai Strip in Macau. When the property opens in 2012, it will be Holiday Inn’s largest hotel worldwide. “The number of hotel guests in Macao has tripled over the past five years,” says Keith Barr, CEO for IHG Greater China. “As the hospitality industry continues to flourish alongside the gaming and tourism sectors, Macao-as Asia’s emerging entertainment destination-is a hotel market with great potential.”
