Hotel de Rome in Berlin has redesigned its Bebel suite, which is based on the open room design of a classical city apartment from the turn of the century.

With an eclectic mix of furniture and light parquet flooring, the suite portrays the idea of contemporary living and reflects the vibrancy of the capital. One of the highlights is the wide balcony, which overlooks historic Bebelplatz square.
Olga Polizzi, director of design at Rocco Forte Hotels, led the restyling of the suite. “This is one of the suites I would really like to stay in myself-colorful and joyful, offering a touch of humor and much comfort,” says Polizzi. “To me this suite embodies the spirit of Berlin.”
The suite’s black and white monochrome palette is accentuated with primary colors, citron, crimson, and burnt umber. The terrace, which extends the entire length of the suite, has also been redesigned by Polizzi and planted with syringa trees and adorned with wooden benches and floral pattern cushions in crisp green.
A large, contemporary living room has its own library, and includes two lemon-colored, 1960s-style armchairs as well as a light gray bookshelf accented with pops of red. Red and lemon touches are repeated on the cushions on the two white dappled sofas. Flamboyant wall lamps, resembling golden leaves, complement the fresh look.
