IHG has launched its Hotel Indigo brand in Asia with the 184-room Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund. Sitting directly on the Huangpu River front, the property was designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates to reflect the area’s unique culture, character, and history. Traditional Chinese pieces contrast with distinctive contemporary local finds, while the proximity of the river and dock has been subtly woven into the fabric of the design.
Maximizing the spectacular views, each individually designed guestroom provides an intimate haven and unexpected details, be it the walk in “shell shower” featured in a number of bathrooms, the oversized wet room, the reclaimed Shikumen brick feature wall, or the hidden refreshment bar with tea sets. Other in-room features include a flatscreen TV, Bose music sound system, Tibetan rose root-inspired toiletries by BaYanKaLa, and a fully stocked mini-bar complete with locally sourced luxuries.
F&B options include QUAY, an all-day-cafe showcasing workstations, entertainment corners, and meeting rooms, as well as CHAR Grill and Bar, with an exclusive setting and secluded terraces on the 29th and 30th floors. Meanwhile, a red mosaic swimming pool overlooking the Huangpu River “floats” above the South Bund.
