InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has converted the Hotel Indigo Anaheim hotel, the Hotel Indigo brand’s fourth property in California.
The four-story, 104-room retro-style hotel has undergone a $5 million renovation and now tells the story of Anaheim’s agricultural history. Located near a historic wagon trail that transported walnuts in the early 1900s, the hotel’s past is shown in its interiors, including mosaic murals featuring walnut trees.
“The Hotel Indigo brand is uniquely designed to reflect the culture, character, and history of the neighborhoods where our hotels are located,” says Mary Winslow, director, brand management, Hotel Indigo, the Americas, IHG. “When most people think about Anaheim, they think about orange groves, but this hotel serves as a reminder of a story that’s almost been forgotten. We want our guests to learn something new about the neighborhood when they visit our hotels, and this part of Anaheim’s agricultural past is certainly unexpected.”
The Hotel Indigo Anaheim hotel has a meeting room, a pool, and a fitness center. The Chambers Bar & Bistro, serving locally-sourced food, additionally pays homage to the area’s history as the Chambers Ranch, which was the home of several families who made their living growing walnuts.
