The landmark Hotel Mar Monte is undergoing a $9 million renovation and reflagging as the Hyatt Santa Barbara. The first phase of the upgrades, which has been completed, includes 92 of the 171 guestrooms, the lobby, landscaping, and décor around the pool and deck area. The remaining refurbishments will be completed in 2012. Amenities include 10,000 square feet of function space, a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, fitness center, spa, business center, and Bistro 1111 restaurant.
