The Rezidor Hotel Group has opened Hotel Missoni Kuwait, the fashion brand’s second location. Inspired by the Arabian Gulf and Kuwaiti culture, creative director Rosita Missoni combined bespoke Missoni textiles and bold colors, using a palette of turquoise, green, and gold.
Nearly 10 million individual mosaic tiles create signature Missoni zig-zag stripes throughout the property, including tiled flooring of the glamorous swimming pool overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Missoni also hand-picked furniture by designers she admires, including pieces she has in her own home such as Hans Wegner’s Wishbone Chair.
Overlooking the sea, all 169 guestrooms are outfitted in high-tech features such as Bang & Olufsen products and bathroom mirrors that convert to TVs. Dining options include Cucina, the brand’s signature Italian restaurant created by Rosita Missoni with Giorgio Locatelli; Luna, an Arab-Mediterranean fusion restaurant located on the 18th floor; Choco Café for lighter meals; and the pool bar.
Opening later this year is the Six Senses spa, featuring 10 treatment rooms; two yoga studios; relaxation areas; a juice bar; and separate gyms and hammams-each with a sauna and steam room-for men and women. Other amenities include extensive meeting space and a pool deck overlooking Kuwait City.
