broughtonHotels has completed the first phase of renovations on Hotel Normandie in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood. Set on the corner of 6th and Normandie, the hotel has undergone a multi-million dollar restoration and is now home to 94 rooms and suites.
Originally built in the 1920s by architects Walker & Eisen, Hotel Normandie recalls the golden age of the city while also introducing the new street scene of the neighborhood. Today, each floor features photography from local historian and photographer Jody Miller. Phase one of the restoration also included 74 guestrooms. The remaining 20 will be completed this summer.

“When we bought the hotel, it was our goal to authentically restore it-to provide guests with a unique experience they won’t be able to duplicate anywhere else in the city,” says Jingbo Lou, owner and partner Hotel Normandie. “We studied the original hotel as it was designed by Walker & Eisen, and then did our best to return the hotel to its original glory.”
Understated, yet sophisticated design sets the tone throughout the hotel. The grand lobby opens up to high-beam ceilings, a fountain, a private library, piano, and intimate gathering spots. Each room features restored hardwood floors and art deco bathrooms. On the outside, the Renaissance Revival-style hotel blends with the contemporary neighborhood and is highlighted by its iconic neon rooftop sign, brick façade, and upcoming street-level nightlife and dining spaces.

“Koreatown is experiencing an exciting rebirth,” says Larry Broughton, founder and CEO of broughtonHOTELS. “It is once again one of Los Angeles’ most notable and inspiring neighborhoods, complete with diverse culture and new restaurants, boutiques, nightlife, and more.”
