Graves Hospitality Corporation has opened Hotel Williamsburg, a full-service luxury boutique hotel in Brooklyn. Designed by Studio GAIA, the 64 guestrooms showcase views of either Manhattan or the swim club through expansive windows. Showpiece furniture like leather-clad modern lounges with matching ottomans make a strong design statement, while translucent windows lead into the bathrooms.
In the lobby, an underfoot “waterfall” flows through the center of the room, with café tables placed atop and a glowing fireplace at its head. The lobby bar overlooks the hotel’s sunken restaurant, Pillar & Plough, outfitted with soaring ceilings, its own cocktail lounge, banquettes, and a chef’s table. On the south side of the restaurant, a wall of windows looks out onto the poolside club, featuring an 800-square-foot pool surrounded by cabanas and a bar. Meanwhile, the rooftop terrace, called the Watering Tower, picks up on the light that runs up the front of the building and illuminates the outdoor bar and dining tables.
