Hyatt Hotels and Hersha Development Corporation have signed agreements for two new-build properties in New York. The full-service Hyatt-branded hotels include a 175-room design forward hotel in Greenwich Village near Union Square and a striking 116-key contemporary location in Midtown Manhattan that will be called Hyatt 48Lex.
The first hotel is slated to include private guestroom terraces on the second floor, 23-foot ceilings in the lobby, a fitness center, rooftop lounge, and a restaurant concept inspired by the local and organic Greenmarket. Meanwhile, Hyatt 48Lex calls for floor-to-ceiling windows in all guestrooms, an American bistro fare restaurant, executive board rooms equipped with the latest audio and video technology, and a fitness center. Both hotels are slated to open next year.
