Two new hotels have been slated for Georgia’s Jekyll Island Beach Village, a mixed-use development featuring a convention center, retail outlets, restaurants, and park space along a beachfront promenade. The new Hyatt Place calls for 135 guestrooms outfitted with the brand’s signature bed and sleeper-sofa. Meanwhile, the 200-key Westin Jekyll Island will be situated on four acres overlooking the beach. Adjacent to the new Jekyll Island Convention Center, the hotel will offer 5,000 square feet of meeting space. Both properties will start construction in early 2013.
