Hyatt Regency Atlanta has started a $60 million renovation project, helmed by architect John Portman. The transformation’s first phase involves an updated, clean feel to the lobby area, with the removal of 576,000 pieces of fan-shaped tile covering 36,000 square feet and a 13.5-ton Parasol metal sculpture. The refreshed space will include the installation of black walnut wooden pod-style desks crafted from rescued trees, allowing for a more intimate check-in experience. Meanwhile, the Peachtree Street entrance will see the addition of marble columns, expanded front drive, and new, larger revolving front door. Plans also call for new F&B concepts, including a new full-service restaurant, lobby bar, and a grab-and-go market.
From an accommodations standpoint, the redesigned Atrium Tower guestrooms will be redesigned to include relaxing and inspiring colors, wallcoverings, drapes, and artwork, as well as new tile flooring, granite vanities, and refreshed lighting in guest bathrooms.
