Orlando’s Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress has completed the second phase of its $54 million renovation with upgrades to the resort’s 65,000 square feet of meeting space. The facilities serve as an extension of the guest tower renovations completed in December 2009. The design focus was to lighten up the meeting spaces to convey a more updated and contemporary look.
To that end, meeting room carpet was replaced with a vibrant plush hue showcasing the impressive space with textured puff panels covering the walls and iridescent paneled curtains draped throughout the ballroom. Colorful modern artwork adorns the facilities, while new light fixtures present a minimal look. Sculptural accents in an iridescent blue finish also were added in the ballroom area.
In addition, all signage has been converted to digital LCD screens. Fully computerized Lutron dimmer systems in meeting rooms schedule lighting around events, which translates into energy savings. In the exhibit hall, VFD drives were installed on all air handling units to run the air conditioning at a lower percentage as needed, again with the intent to reduce overall energy consumption.
