Hyatt Regency Washington has embarked on a $7.5 million ballroom and meeting space renovation, scheduled for completion in January. The transformation, which encompasses a total of 30,000 square feet of space, starts at the ballroom escalators from the lobby, where a unique cascading escalator installation of reflective metal coils greets event attendees. Four 52-inch LCD screens will engage guests, followed by two 70-inch LCD screens visible on the descent to the ballroom level, home to a series of original artworks.
Dark walnut woodwork and bold colors on the custom wool carpeting flow throughout the adjacent spaces. Over-scaled ballroom chandeliers with clear glass orbs and metallic organza ribbons complement sconces made of champagne-colored glass links and polished chrome, along with gold-tone wallcoverings. Additionally, new energy-efficient fluorescent cove and recessed lighting will be updated throughout the remodeled space.
