It may be made of snow and ice, but Hotel de Glace outside of Quebec City, Canada, showcases a unique design that will warm the hearts of travelers looking for unique accommodations. “The design of the Hotel de Glace will communicate the art, culture, knowledge, and values of the First Nations,” says Serge Péloquin, the project’s artistic director.
The 2012 version of the hotel, which is open until March 25, features 36 guestrooms, a café, spa sand saunas, an ice bar, chapel, and exhibit room. Guests at the cool hotel also will have access to a skating rink and a covered slide made entirely of ice and snow. Hotel de Glace’s operators have been crafting a new ice hotel each winter since 2001.
