Impulsive Group, a lifestyle hospitality company, has contracted ICRAVE to redesign its newest property, the Sanctuary Hotel in New York City, debuting in December. For the lobby, the firm is creating a space that reflects the comfort of a private living room featuring intimate nooks. A deep brown and cognac color palette defines the room, complemented by lavish terrazzo tile with brown glass chips and custom-designed carpets. Warm yellow leather pillows on the couches, deep orange leather wall panels surrounding the elevator bank (and also used in guestroom corridors), and fireplace set with tiger skin travertine tiles further contribute to the lobby’s elegant style. The illuminated glass floor leads guests to the lobby bar, crafted of honey onyx, terrazzo tile, and brass blinds.
Guestrooms feature textured burnt orange leather trim headboards, plush beds outfitted with fine European linens, and an open bathroom design boasting rain showerheads, leather print tiles, quarried marble, and a cream leather curtain. ICRAVE is also updating the building’s architectural façade, which will still preserve the grandeur of an older era. Unique glass awnings help to create an exclusive feel to the property, while opaque glass block windows will softly illuminate into the street.
