IHG plans to open three Holiday Inn branded hotels in the UK in Edinburgh, Darlington, and London.
A franchise agreement with one of IHG’s longest standing partners, Chardon Trading, will see Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport in the spring of 2014. During the same period, Holiday Inn Darlington – North A1M, Jct. 59 will debut under a franchise agreement with Dominvs Living Ltd. Holiday Inn Express London – Ealing is set for spring 2015 under a franchise agreement with Chart Forte Court (West Ealing) Limited.
The 80-room Holiday Inn Darlington features the brand’s open lobby concept, numerous meeting rooms, a gym, bar, and restaurant. The 95-room Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport and the 75 room Holiday Inn Express London both will combine the hotel reception, bar, and breakfast room into a large seating area.
“These investments in the Holiday Inn brand family reflect its success not only in Europe but also globally as the brands continue to appeal to both investors and consumers in an increasingly competitive hotel market,” says Robert Shepherd, IHG’s COO.
There are 257 Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels in the UK with 12 hotels in the pipeline set to open over the next three to five years.
