InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed the first Holiday Inn hotel in Belarus: Holiday Inn Minsk. Due to open in 2016, the new-build property will operate under a franchise agreement with Hospitality Group LLC.
Holiday Inn Minsk will feature the brand’s signature Open Lobby, which has transformed the traditional hotel lobby format by combining the front desk, lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area, and business center into one open, cohesive space.
The 205-room hotel will also include nine suites, a gym, four meeting rooms and breakout rooms, and a restaurant and lounge area.
“The Holiday Inn brand has celebrated many firsts through the years, from the first hotel to let kids stay and eat free, to the $1 billion U.S. global refresh of our hotels; so we’re delighted to be announcing the first Holiday Inn hotel in Belarus,” says Aron Libinson, associate vice president for development for Russia, CIS, and Georgia. “It’s the most recognized hotel brand in the world and continues to appeal to both owners and guests wanting a quality yet comfortable internationally branded hotel.”
