HD Expo got off to a great start on Tuesday night, May 13th with a kickoff party at the Deuce at Aria. Nearly 200 people gathered for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the event, which was sponsored by Hansgrohe.
Attendance is up 10 percent, and with nearly 900 exhibitors, the 2014 HD Expo has once again proven itself as the industry’s largest and most preeminent trade show.
The show officially opened on Wednesday, May 14th, and HD unveiled the Social Hub in booth #1955, modeled after the upcoming Delano Las Vegas by Morgans Hotel Group. Visitors find a respite from the show floor at HD magazine’s booth, where they can also attend NEWH Green Voice Conversations with the Experts and HD Conversations with the Owners, which continue today.
Amidst a packed conference schedule on Wednesday, HD‘s Michael Adams sat down for a keynote conversation with HBA co-founder Michael Bedner, sponsored by Walters. In a candid interview, turning into Q&A from the audience, Bedner discussed his partnership with Howard Hirsch, HBA’s early days, his view on industry changes, and exciting new projects he is working on now.
It wouldn’t be HD Expo without the Opening Night Party, held Wednesday at the House of Blues Mandalay Bay. More than 900 people gathered to mingle and dance to the ’70s sounds of the Boogie Knights at the party sponsored by Symmons and Aceray.
Thursday morning featured HD’s signature event, Owners’ Roundtable, where more than 30 owners, developers, and brand executives came together for free-flowing roundtable conversations about the industry, forecasts, trends, and many other topics brought to the table. And with tables rotating every 10 minutes, the format is a great way to get the perspectives of multiple executives in one session.
The celebration continues Thursday evening with Party by the Pool at Mandalay Bay’s Daylight Beach Club, presented by Tai Ping with sponsors 360 Architecture, 3M, Ergomotion, LEDCore, MTS Seating and RH Contract.
