InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed for its third InterContinental property in London-the InterContinental London the O2. The 452-room hotel is scheduled to open in 2015, adding to the portfolio of InterContinental London Westminster and InterContinental London Park Lane.
The hotel will feature a health spa, numerous restaurants, a club lounge, main bar, and a sky bar with 180-degree views over Canary Wharf and the River Thames. A 32,291-square-foot open-plan hotel ballroom-the largest pillar-free ballroom in Europe-will add to the amenities. Located on the Greenwich Peninsula, the hotel is adjacent to the O2 Arena, which hosts nearly 200 events annually and attracts approximately 7.5 million visitors.
