Some hotels are abandoning the traditional business center in favor of more casual, targeted work areas, according to the New York Times. Lodging properties throughout the U.S. are putting their focus on creating lobbies with work spaces complete with comfortable seating and plug-and-play capabilities for guests’ laptops and cell phones. Many hotels continue to offer a few computer stations with printers, while others offer fax and printing services right from the front desk. Guestrooms also are receiving better work spaces, with ergonomic desks and chairs, plenty of outlets, and proper task lighting.
