WestHouse Hotel New York has unveiled the Terrace on the hotel’s 23rd floor. New York-based Jeffrey Beers International (JBI) completed the design.
Open throughout the day, the rooftop space includes a kitchen and open dining room, private dining room, lounge, and alfresco terrace. Weaving many of the design motifs and Art Deco influences found throughout the Den and the WestHouse hotel lobby, JBI utilized a rich selection of materials to conceive the Terrace. Swathed in shades of amber, gray and toasted beige, the space has a modern aesthetic accented by polished brass and bronze.
“We wanted to design the Terrace as a multifunctional dining and living space that feels like part of a home,” says Jeffrey Beers. “Like the rest of WestHouse Hotel, design details throughout the Terrace help to create a comfortable and inviting space.”
Guests will enter the Terrace through a central foyer, which leads into a multipurpose space that serves as a main dining room and kitchen. An eclectic art installation features rectangular brass plates on antique hooks, as well as framed antiqued keys and Deco mirrors. Decorative hammered tin panels with a brass finish accent the ceiling. A 45-foot banquette is upholstered in camel-colored leather, and tall wingback chairs upholstered in shades of navy blue, caramel brown, and silver add color, pattern, and texture to the space.
In the center of the Terrace is a chic dining display for buffet-style breakfasts, afternoon tea, and evening canape presentations. Its quartz stone counter resembles a residential kitchen island, with brass and wood stools suitable for singles dining.
The private dining room features a long wood dining table with townhouse inspired details such as inset wall panels with original artwork. The adjoining outdoor terrace space contains lounge area seating as well as dining tables and oversized tables. Tall antique bronze metal trellis screens bookend the seating groups, which feature a variety of sectional sofas, dining tables, and chairs, along with playful antique brass side tables.
