Developer R. Donohue Peebles has formed a joint venture with Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino to build Las Palmas Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, according to GlobeSt.com. The $2 billion luxury project, located a half mile off the Strip, calls for two hotels housing 1,344 guestrooms, a 100,000-square-foot convention center, 10,000 square feet of retail, several restaurants and bars/lounges, indoor and outdoor pools, and a spa. Five floors of condos are also slated for the development.
