JW Marriott Los Angeles has made its debut at L.A. Live, a $2.5 billion sports, residential, and entertainment district. The 878-key hotel, which is seeking LEED certification, shares space with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences in a 54-story tower designed by Gensler. Barry Design Associates handled interiors for the project.
Guestrooms, including 52 luxury suites, are outfitted in bold orange and deep chocolate accents, lacquered cabinetry, and artwork inspired by California’s beaches. Celebrity chef Kerry Simon brings L.A. Market to the hotel. The restaurant features natural wood-topped tables and shades of amber and brown thataccent the main dining area. An abstract mosaic of gold and copper sits on the wall leading to the kitchen, allowing diners get a close view of the action as well as the bustling lobby bar. Other F&B concepts include Glance, a wine bar and lounge; pool bar Ion; the Mixing Room, a classic cocktail lounge; and Illy Coffee Bar. The hotel’s 100,000 square feet of event space includes three ballrooms, nine ancillary meeting rooms, and three boardrooms. Guests also have access to a large fitness center, rooftop outdoor pool, and Ritz-Carlton’s spa.
