The 153-key JW Marriott Hotel Cusco in Peru is slated to open in 2012 at the gateway to Machu Picchu. The hotel, built around a colonial church, will include a museum of prominent artifacts, many of which will be preserved in-situ. Featuring a distinct colonial feel, the property will include a stylish lobby lounge, restaurant, spa treatment rooms, and guestrooms and suites outfitted with a soaking tub and separate shower. In addition, an oxygen delivery system will be available in all rooms to relieve altitude sickness, as the property sits 11,200 feet above sea level.
