Marriott International has signed on for a 274-key JW Marriott in Bahrain, scheduled to open in 2016. The 50-story hotel, designed by Yousif Daoud Al Sayegh and Associates, will be part of Bahrain Bay, a $2.5 billion development master planned by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. Plans call for six restaurants; an executive lounge with ocean view; four lounges, including a lobby lounge and bar, a pool bar, quiet bar, and rooftop lounge/bar; more than 17,000 square feet of meeting space; a spa; health and leisure club; indoor and outdoor pools; and tennis and squash courts.
