Hospitality art provider Kalisher has formed a partnership in Brazil to help U.S.-based hotels, developers, and designers source works of art within the country. Artist and company president Jesse Kalisher notes that the partnership with Brazil’s leading supplier of art and mirrors for the furniture industry helps companies avoid the steep taxes and duties for importing U.S.-made FF&E goods, especially on art–sometimes as high as 100 percent. “We can now offer every client the same great art, pricing, and service that we’re known for here in the United States, and we can deliver all of that in Brazil,” he says
Kalisher teamed up with VOA and Hilton to create art for the Hilton Garden Inn/Brazil and Hampton Inn/Brazil model rooms. Kalisher is also in the brand specs for Hyatt Place/Brazil and is in the early stages of a luxury hotel. He handled the design of these projects in the U.S., with manufacturing by Kalisher’s team in Brazil.
“In Brazil, [Kalisher] delivered just like they do in the United States,” says Leo Eskenazi, Hilton’s director of Latin American architecture and design. “Jesse and his team worked closely with us and understood our requirements, delivering great art, on time and within budget.”
Kalisher is a preferred provider for most U.S.-based multi-national hospitality brands including Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Starwood, Carlson Rezidor, and Best Western. Kalisher has also completed art for the last three Hard Rock hotels in Latin America and is a preferred provider for Host Hotels & Resorts.
