The group has already opened the Kempinski Hotel Fleuve Congo Kinshasa in the Republic of Congo. Along with 237 rooms and suites, the hotel features three restaurants and three bars, five function rooms, an auditorium seating 300, two outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, and billiard and snooker rooms.
Next up for the group is Hôtel des Mille Collines in Rwanda, which Kempinski will unveil in Q2. Made famous by the movie Hotel Rwanda, the hotel’s name translates as “a thousand hills” after the landscape surrounding the city. The Grand Hotel Oyala Kempinski will also debut in Q2 of this year in Equatorial Guinea’s future capital of Oyala. The hotel will boast some of the most modern conference facilities in the region, including a banquet room for up to 1,200 guests.
Beginning in Q3, the Kempinski Yanqi Lake hotel project will open gradually in Beijing and will be the group’s largest property in China. The rising-sun shaped hotel features 306 rooms and suites and is designed to host high profile government conferences. Also in China, the group will unveil the Kempinski Hotel Changsha and the Phoenix Hotel Dalian in Q3.
In Switzerland, the group will launch Du Parc Kempinski Private Residences. Set among the UNESCO-protected vineyards of Lavaux, the residences will showcase a spa, two swimming pools, a home cinema, a private wine cellar, and century-old private gardens.
Additional openings include the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra in Ghana, the
Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Cairo in Egypt, the Burj Rafal Kempinski Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, and the Summerland Resort Kempinski Beirut in Lebanon.
