Outdoor furniture manufacturer Kettal has been honored with the National Design Prize 2010 from the Ministry of Science and Innovation. The honor is the highest awarded in Spain to companies that successfully use design as part of their innovation strategy. A jury selected Kettal for its exemplary use of design in its business strategy, commitment to the environment and sustainability, and for innovating products and industrial processes.
The main objectives of the National Design Prizes are to spread, boost, and foster the culture of design; promote design in all its aspects, highlighting exemplary expressions of the relationship between design and enterprise and its cultural and social impact; and to play a pedagogical role in the correct assessment and understanding of design by society in general.
