Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants expands in South Florida with the management of the Angler’s Boutique Resort in Miami.
Originally constructed in 1931 and later restored and revamped in 2007, the 48 rooms of Angler’s Resort are now split among four separate buildings. The distinctively relaxed yet sophisticated hotel features a restaurant, board room, pool, and seven spa suites. Set to begin in 2014, the hotel will develop a new tower with 83 rooms, bringing the total number of suites and rooms to 131, as well as the addition of a new living room-style lobby and rooftop pool. With an urban yet tropical feel, Angler’s celebrates Miami Beach’s historic architecture while also bringing a fresh approach reminiscent of old Florida.
“South Florida has been an especially integral part of Kimpton’s growth story over the last five years as a market with high demand among our most loyal guests. We look forward to continuing our success here,” says Mike Depatie, Kimpton CEO and president. “This is also an exciting addition for us as it further strengthens our portfolio in popular leisure markets, joining hotels we already have in Scottsdale, Aspen, Palm Springs, Vero Beach, and Santa Barbara. “
The new South Beach hotel strengthens Kimpton’s presence in South Florida with a total of four hotels, joining the EPIC, in downtown Miami; Surfcomber, Miami, South Beach; and Vero Beach Hotel and Spa. Nine other projects were also announced this year, including new hotels in Austin, Grand Cayman, Milwaukee, Palm Springs, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, Savannah, Sedona, and Seattle.
