Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has added the Surfcomber South Beach to its portfolio, marking the brand’s entry into Florida. The company plans an extensive makeover to the hotel-a 1948 Art Deco-themed building-that will address guestrooms, meeting and event space, and a new restaurant unique to the property’s location. The refurbishment is expected to wrap up at the end of 2011 in time for the Art Basel event in Miami.
