Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Phoenix is on track to open this summer as part of CityScape, a $500 million mixed-used development of shops, restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, and offices. Architecture and design firm Callison and KNA Design inject the contemporary vibe of the surrounding landscape with a nod to Arizona’s casual yet sophisticated approach. Design and décor elements use bright spots of color, lines that create a sense of movement, and light-hearted artistic touches to bring the hotel’s “Art in Motion” theme to life.

Outfitted with a fireplace and casual seating, the second-floor living room lobby leads to the Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails, featuring American gastro lounge cuisine. Meanwhile, on the third-floor terrace, guests have access to an open-air pool and al fresco Lustre Bar. On the higher floors, 242 guestrooms and suites showcase warm, earthy shades of Arizona accented by small bursts of color. Phoenix artist John Randall Nelson’s acrylic on canvas featuring a vibrant blue face of a long-horned steer or the green felt bird sculpture adorns the bedroom wall. The hotel also will include 10,000 square feet of art-infused meeting space across 10 event rooms, each offering picture windows that usher in light and capture city and mountain views.
