La Quinta has announced its expansion in Latin America following a series of agreements with an affiliate of Honduras-based Grupo Santas. Opening eight hotels, the expansion will bring La Quinta hotels to Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and Nicaragua.
Construction for a 100-room La Quinta-slated for the Honduras capital, Tegucigalpa-is expected to begin by mid year with a grand opening in early 2014. Developments of new hotels are also expected in the Honduran cities of San Pedro Sula, Comayagua, Choluteca, and Roatan; Managua, Nicaragua; Panama City and Guatemala City.
La Quinta now has signings in eight North American and Latin American countries. In 2012, La Quinta announced the development of hotels in Colombia and expects to add hotels in Mexico before the end of the year.
