La Samanna in St. Martin has reopened following an extensive refurbishment. The Orient-Express hotel’s 83 guestrooms and suites reflect effortless island living while paying homage to property’s history dating back to 1972. Outfitted in traditional whites accented by Mediterranean hues, the oceanview accommodations showcase works by resident artist Sir Roland Richardson and water color prints courtesy of Antoine Chapon. Meanwhile, at 4,600 square feet each, the self-contained Villas at La Samanna feature a full kitchen, dining room, indoor and outdoor living room, wrap-around terraces, and an infinity edge pool.

The hotel also is home to two new restaurants: Trellis, which overlooks the Caribbean, or Interlude for a more casual option. Guests also have access to the remodeled Baie Longue Bar, the Beach Bar, and La Cave for wine-pairing dinners. Other amenities include a spa with seven treatment rooms, including five indoor/outdoor suites-each with a private Zen garden and outdoor shower.
