La Samanna by Orient-Express in St. Martin, French West Indies, has unveiled enhancements to 50 of its 83 guestrooms, suites, and cottages. Design firm Project 360 takes cues from the property’s roots, blending traditional whites with soft ocean-hued accents. Accommodations now feature new furniture, bathrooms, kitchenettes, floors, and electrical and plumbing, along with private terraces and balconies.

Each room also depicts original artwork by local artists depicting scenes or locations in St. Martin and the Caribbean. Etchings from Caribbean artist Sir Roland Richardson, who has been the property’s resident artist for many years, hang in guestrooms, while Richardson’s noted oil paintings adorn the walls of the suites. The hotel also showcases art by Antoine Chapon, whose watercolor prints reflect the local Caribbean culture.
