Czech Republic glass manufacturer Lasvit will create two elegant glass installations in the Czech House at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Designed by glassmaker Jitka Kamencová, “Infinity” takes its cues from the eternal expanse of the universe and mathematics. The piece comprises 1,400 hand-blown glass leaves, decorated with linear grooves, to form the shape of the letter “S.” The 23-foot artwork will adorn the Czech House’s mezzanine.

Meanwhile, the Hydrogene Crystal Bar is constructed of 4 Arch for Lasvit, Lars Kemper and Peter Olah’s versatile architectural system of illuminated glass pieces. A series of LEDs light the textured glass elements, which can be combined and rearranged to create a variety of designs. Vertical illuminated glass pieces form the rectangular exterior of the bar to create a gallery of light, while simple pendant-style ceiling lamps hang above.
