Le Meridien Koh Samui has opened its doors in Thailand. The luxury resort takes its design cues from the island’s beauty and diverse culture, as well as incorporates feng shui principles throughout its buildings and amenities.

The arrival experience starts with The Sampan’s Diary, a long, multidimensional piece comprising a poem painted with Chinese characters on cobblestones that tells the story of a Chinese migrant’s journey to a faraway land. Running parallel, an elevated and LED-illuminated resin panel strip is engraved with Inner Waves 01, an artwork contribution from LM100 artist Hisham Bharoocha. The lobby, offering Illy coffee by day and international wines by night, serves as a creative atmosphere, where contemporary, curated artwork sets the environment.

The resort’s 63 suites and 14 stand-alone villas-some with their own private pools and dining pavilions-are equipped with high ceilings, expansive, windows, and open-air bathrooms. Meanwhile, F&B venues include signature restaurant Latest Recipe, the poolside Plunge bar, and Latitude 9 in the lobby. Guests also have access to a spa, oceanfront infinity pool, and fitness center.
